Workers

The workers might send me a kite
The workers might see me a light
Whatever they send me would be a delight
If I wake in the middle of the night.

Snow Day!

The snow had a lot of snow. And the snow changed the grass. And it maked me feel happy. (Levi)

It snowed on Friday night, January 22nd, 2016. It got about to two feet! The next day, we went to the hill and went sledding. It was really fun, but it was hard. Really hard. We had a big snowball fight with my dad. The next day, my dad shoveled with other people in the ward. Me and my friend, Ethan, and my brothers went sledding. The next day we built two little snowmen (I think). On Wednesday, we went sledding on a giant hill. On my first run, I went all the way down to the bottom. The hill was super big. Towards the top, there was ice. It was really hard to get up during the ice for the first time. It got easier eventually. I had so much fun!

The End (H)

It snowed in January. We went sledding on this really icy hill. I had a purple sled and it was really fun. At first I was scared and tried to stop myself, but then I got in how to sled and then I did this big jump.   (A)

I snow is ..outside in the snow is around around around, I down and down and down. Let it go! Let it go! (G)

Annie (H)

Annie is a musical. I am going to be in it. My first week was boring. It was just blah blah blahs and blah blah blahs. The second week was way better. I made a new friend, and I got the guy I was auditioning for. I was the only guy who was auditioning for Lt. Ward. Lt. Ward is a police officer. He says a couple lines. The only stuff he's in is "Tomorrow" and right after "Little Girls."

The End!

If I had a pet (L & G)

L: Send back the imaginext houses and Mom, I love you. And you have the best best best best yonanas.

(If you had a pet...)
I would name it Chewbacca. It would be a dragon dog. And I love dragon dogs. And I know that my family are going to be great.

G: My pet is a dog. Yeah. My pet is a grown up dog. Let's do your hair. You do my hair. My favorite is a dog. It looks beautiful! You all done, you do my hair, okay?

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Nov 30 - Dec 4

"As ye are desirous to enter into the fold of god, and to be called his people, and are willing to bear one another's burdens that they may be light;"         Mosiah 18:8

My favorite part of the day has become circle time and independent work time. Unfortunately this was a crazy week, so we didn't have a "normal" day of school until Thursday! We had dentist appointments, piano, a play date, and CC taking up our mornings, so we had to bump school time to the afternoon. When it works, though, circle time is just pleasant and spiritual, and independent work time is when I can actually have a few minutes to spend individually with each child - something I have been trying unsuccessfully to do for years! I finished our bulletin board and made some laminated maps and times tables, too, which has helped them focus and retain information during circle time.

I love watching Henry's progress. We started doing copywork for 10 minutes straight (he has to copy the sentence for 10 minutes), and he is filling up a page or two, which has done wonders for his writing stamina and handwriting! He did the weight chapter in his Singapore Math book this week and next week we finally get to start multiplication.

Archer is working on his capital letters - I am trying to rush through them to get to the lower case letters because he really has nice penmanship and that is where he needs work so that we can start actual copywork. In math he is working on addition within 10. It's pretty simple for him - I think I may start having him do more drill work so that we can just move on.

We started the Christmas season this week around here! We put up our tree (fake this year), put up our Christmas cuckoo clock, and kind of decorated elsewhere. We are working through this 25 Days of Christ ornament kit that my mom got us. It has been fun to have Christmas devotionals in the mornings! We also have an advent calendar that I intend to put a service activity in each day. It happened yesterday - we'll see how we do the rest of the month! They had a blast writing thank you cards to their friends. It was also good handwriting practice!

My basketball careers (H)

January 8, 2016

I had one year and one game of basketball so far. I scored three baskets in my first year. I hope I score more. One time, a guy named Seever in my game this year, was right under the basket, he moved out from under it (to the left), and threw it backwards with his head looking backwards, and he made it! Last year, the team had a really good player named Gavin. Gavin's strategy is playing basketball and practicing a lot. He was really fast. He was the smallest player, but the best player, too! I had a lot of fun playing basketball. I am good at, well, in my first game this year, I was really good at being faster than my blocker. I got a lot of rebounds, though.

Friends

January 8, 2016  (A - Tell me about your friends)

My friend is Ethan and Aidan and Sophie. They like to play with me. Aidan is 8, Ethan is 5, and Sophie is 5. I also have a friend named Ben, and he is 8, like Aidan. I like to play Mr. Police Officer with my brother and Ethan. I like to play Hide and Go Seek with Sophie and Ethan, and I like to play flag football and two-hand touch with Aidan. I like to play lots of fun games with Ben.
